So, remember when I mentioned that my son loves Crisco? Yeah. Well. I now have photographic proof.
This is what happens when you take a few minutes to blog while you think the kids are playing nicely in the next room. I know, I know — why wasn’t I watching them? Well, the house is pretty well kid-proofed, so I don’t worry about them getting hurt if I take a breather for a couple minutes. Except for the pantry. Most of the stuff on the bottom shelf is harmless — taco seasoning, cans of beans, bag of brown sugar, box of croutons. But for some reason I haven’t moved the Crisco to a higher shelf. (Actually, there is a reason — the baking stuff goes on the bottom shelf and I can’t be having the Crisco off alone away from his baking buddies!)
Usually I hear him open the door, but it must not have been all the way shut because I heard nothing today until he ran up to me and said, “Mommy, I wash my hands!” I spun around in my chair to help him at the sink (he has a new hand-washing obsession) and was met with this:
“Umm, Sawyer, you need to wash your whole head. Now stand still so I can take a picture for my blog.”
I tried to get him to stand next to his masterpiece on the couch but the most he would do was sit in the chair for a few seconds. Then it was off to the bath tub, where I discovered that Beckett is terrified of the water if I’m not in it with him. So no brotherly bath time today.
My one piece of advice for anyone with kids that is furniture shopping: when they offer you the Guardsman treatment, take it. Yes, it’s a couple hundred dollars more. But trust me. TAKE IT. Our couch has now had run-ins with blood, an entire bottle of Windex, and Crisco. And has lived to tell the tale.
And yes, the Crisco is now on the top shelf.
Man, Lucas is the same way with bathtime. He used to be okay but out of nowhere he acted as if you were dropping him into a tub of acid if you weren’t in it with him!
Good to know about the furniture treatment. When Derek and I find a house we were planning to get new furniture.. so I’ll definitely look into that! I predict my Impossible Infant will transition right into Terrible Toddlerism in no time.

I can’t help laughing, but boy o boy, what a mess!!! Eww…Ashlee had a similar run in not to long ago w/ a bulk sized vat of vaseline…yuck!!!

And I second the scotchgaurd!!!! We just bought new furniture, but we bought microsuede–they dont’ offer the stain repellant, b/c microsuede is soo repellant, the stuff they spray on just beads up and rolls off–but they still offer the warranty, so we are still covered if anything should happen–and w/ 3 kids–something is BOUND to happen!!!
Fingerpainting with food……ahhh the memories. This is why I bought leather. lol It took me 2 kids, and two couches before I figured that out though. It has been well worth the extra cost:)
Oh my word!! We did get the guardsmen with our couch! Only had a whole bottle of Motrin so far, but I am sure there will be more before the 5 year mark is up:)

OMG!!! That is tooo funny!! what a mess! I have a firend who’s DD put peanut butter all over her body, and got it all over the carpet and furniture. Sorry u had to clena that up, but you have pics so u can show his girlfriend when he’s a teenager LOL!
When Samantha was 2, (I was pregnant with Sarah) I was taking a shower, when I came out there was Sam sitting on the living room floor with a tub of butter, smeared it all over the carpet and the walls. Of course she had to coat herself in it too. She also took the syrup and smeared that on top of the butter. To this day I can’t stand the smell of syrup.
I had a similar experience with Sarah last month, she got a hold of a jar of petroleum jelly, smeared it all in her hair. I had to ask a local hair stylist what to do, had to take her into the beauty shop for some shampoo. kids! LOL
OMG — that is all I have to say.
Does Crisco wash out… um… easily?

olá pessoal, realmente mandar um torpedo web gratuito está cada vez mais trabalhoso devido falta de opções das operadoras de celular. Há ainda os websites que prometem entregar meu torpedo mas quase nunca chegam ao usuário final. Alguns como o Mundo oi e o Oi Torpedo funcionam mas e para as outras operadoras? E os que dizem que enviam e nada chega. Para onde está indo as meus SMS? E para a Tim, Vivo? Alguma Idéia? Ou significa ter de desembolsar?. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
